Solomon

Guitar

Q. What do you love about teaching music?

“I love collaborating with other people to create something beautiful! Teachers and students have the unique opportunity to learn from one another, to both become better at speaking the language of music. As a teacher, I have the chance to play an important supporting role in helping new and seasoned musicians to discover THEIR personal musical voice!”

In addition to Undergraduate work at the University of Windsor and York University, Solomon holds an A.R.C.T in Guitar Pedagogy, from the Royal Conservatory of Music, where he studied with one of Canada’s leading guitarists and composers, William Beauvais.

Active as a performer, Sol has performed in Canada and the U.S, and  regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician along with singers and other instrumentalists, in the greater Toronto area.

Along with his performance work, Sol has been teaching guitar for over 16 years, and strives to craft truly individual lessons to meet the needs of each student. Sol’s teaching hinges on making a connection with his students, through kindness, encouragement and openness, so that students not only reach their goals, but develop real and tangible love for music: “My teaching philosophy is simple: Music is about expressing yourself, and sharing with, and moving others. My job is to share with you what I know, so that together we can reach your goals, and tap into what YOU want to express!” He has coordinated private and group guitar programs in Windsor, Toronto, and most recently, in Sacramento, California.
